Design is the phase where 80 % of production costs are decided. Every curve, every angle, every wall thickness directly affects mold feasibility, the injection cycle and the final quality of the part.
A designer who doesn't understand plastics processing creates shapes that are impossible to mold — or very costly to change once the tooling is made. This is the reality we see land on our desk far too often.
Our approach
CadNov combines the creativity of the industrial designer with the technical expertise of the plastics engineer. Our designers work in pairs with our engineers — every aesthetic decision is immediately checked against industrial feasibility.
The result : a finished product that looks exactly like the initial concept, with no costly last-minute compromises.

From idea to a manufacturable plastic part
Brief and needs analysis
Definition of functional, ergonomic, aesthetic and technical constraints. Usage environment, regulations, target user.
Research and sketching
A free ideation phase — several creative directions explored simultaneously. Sketches let us quickly converge on the most promising concepts.
3D CAD modeling
Development of the chosen concept into a surface then solid model. Every surface checked against draft-angle and tooling constraints.
Rendering and visualization
Photorealistic rendering for client validation before any investment. Materials, colors, finishes — everything is visualized before the first euro spent on tooling.
Integrated DFM analysis
Validation of manufacturing constraints : draft angles, wall thickness, parting line, injection gate. The design is adjusted before the mold is made.
Definition package
Native CAD files, dimensioned drawings, material bill of materials, surface specifications. Ready for the moldmaker.
