YOUR CHALLENGE

Finding the right machinist costs time — and mistakes

Selecting a reliable workshop, checking the material, holding tolerances, securing lead times and traceability: every new supplier is a risk. CadNov absorbs that risk for you.

Reliability

Qualified, monitored workshops — not an anonymous lowest bidder.

Traceability

Material certificate (EN 10204 3.1) and dimensional report on request.

Lead times met

Milestones tracked by a project manager, not a black box.

One contact

You talk to one person, from quote to the good part.

THE CADNOV SOLUTION

Integrator, not just a broker

We design, source, follow up and inspect. You hand over the drawing, we deliver the conforming part — in France or via our sourced supply chain, according to your specifications (price, volume, lead time).

  • Feasibility analysis and machining advice (DFM) before quoting
  • Choice of the process and workshop best suited to your part
  • Multi-workshop sourcing: France for the critical, controlled supply chain for cost
  • Production follow-up and receiving inspection in France
  • Coordinated heat and surface treatments
  • Traceability, certificates and inspection reports
OUR PROCESSES

7 complementary machining processes

The right machine for each geometry, each material, each production run.

01

3-axis CNC milling

Prismatic parts, plates, brackets. High throughput, controlled cost.

02

5-axis milling

Complex shapes, undercuts, multiple operations in one setup.

03

CNC turning

Parts of revolution: shafts, bushings, fittings, threads.

04

Mill-turn

Mill-turn: complete parts in one operation, axis precision.

05

Wire EDM

Fine cuts, sharp internal corners, very hard materials.

06

Sinker EDM

Cavities, blind shapes, details impossible in milling.

07

Grinding

Fine surface finishes and tight tolerances after treatment.

CAPACITIES AND INSPECTION

Tolerances and metrology

  • General tolerances ISO 2768-mK by default
  • Tight functional dimensions down to ± 0.01 mm depending on material and geometry
  • Surface finishes Ra 1.6 — down to Ra 0.4 / 0.2 after grinding or polishing
  • Large dimensions possible (specify the part envelope)

Inspection

  • Dimensional inspection, CMM / measuring column
  • Inspection report and FAI (first article) on request
  • Material certificate EN 10204 2.1 / 3.1
  • Receiving inspection of parts in France before delivery

Tip: declare the treatment from the drawing. Quenching distorts and hardens — tight dimensions are ground after treatment, which changes the routing and the cost.

DESIGN TIPS

Cut cost and lead time from the drawing

Useful tolerances

Only tighten functional dimensions. ± 0.01 everywhere multiplies the price.

Internal radii

Allow a radius ≥ tool radius. Sharp internal corners require EDM.

Walls and slenderness

Avoid thin walls and very deep pockets (vibration, re-clamping).

Right material

Unnecessary stainless or titanium doubles the machining cost. Choose by function.

Standard threads

Standard threads, through-holes if possible: less special tooling.

Clean file

STEP or IGS + dimensioned 2D drawing (critical dimensions, surface finish, treatment).

INSPECTION AND ESG APPROACH

Inspected in France, committed ESG approach

Today, our guarantee rests on inspecting parts in France before delivery. In parallel, CadNov is gradually rolling out ESG criteria at its partners, starting with the low-cost supply chain.

Inspection in France

Receipt and dimensional check of parts in France before shipping. Our baseline guarantee, real and verifiable.

Workshop selection

Technical qualification, capacity and quality: we only work with known, monitored partners.

ESG being rolled out

Environmental and social criteria being integrated at our partners, low-cost supply chain first. A gradual approach — not an acquired label.

LARGE SERIES

Framework agreements and controlled prices

  • Volume-based discounts
  • Framework agreements with scheduled deliveries (planned batches)
